Life Happens

What has been happening!?

Just as I suspected, keeping up the discipline to write posts when the time is not scheduled for me has proven difficult!

Joel and I were talking this morning about letting life happen versus making life and happen. There’s a tricky line one must walk between being open to what the universe has to offer you, and clearly communicating to the universe what it is you want. Well, I’ve been going with the flow, but now its time to blog!

We got insurance for the bus! From GMAC, pretty inexpensive. The fun part will be registering it now, which will be costing some dollas fo sho.

Joel’s also still working on getting the sink working at the house in Washougal. He got all the parts hooked up and working down below, and then the faucet leaks. Ugh. We got a free faucet from another one of the houses his Dad is fixing up, so we’ll see if that one does the trick!

We got parts from two old RV’s from Craigslist! Here’s Joel on top of the ’76 Dodge Rambler. It was a pretty icky sight, it had bad water damage. We got some good stuff though: two air conditioning units(hopefully at least one works!), a 54″ fridge, the gas tank(for veggie oil), and a propane tank. From the second RV we got and inverter and electrical box, and a little mirror with clips to hang it. That RV was in far better condition and we were again tempted to buy an oven/stove top, but we really wanna keep it as simple as possible. We’re thinking single burner propane stove top.

We may throw up the finger at the insurance company, but we really are all about peace and love.

An awesome quote that I first saw in Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins. One of my favorite books, so I just started reading it to Joel.

You don’t need to leave your room,                                                                                                               Remain sitting at your table and listen.                                                                                                                         Don’t even listen, simply wait.                                                                                                                                       Don’t even wait.                                                                                                                                                                          Be quite still and solitary.                                                                                                                                           The world will freely offer itself to you.                                                                                                                              To be unmasked, it has no choice.                                                                                                                                 It will roll in ecstasy at your feet.                                                                                                                                                                          –Franz Kafka
